Meet Our Staff
I told God I would never serve in California… But, in 1999 I answered God’s call and moved our family, and my reluctant heart, to Lemoore…and WE LOVE IT!
Serving in ministry has been an amazing journey. Sherry and I started dating just out of high school and were married in 1989. I completed my under-graduate studies at Wichita State University with a degree in History and a minor in Administration of Justice. We then moved to Kansas City to attend Central Baptist Theological Seminary. While we were there, God blessed us with a great church home in Louisburg, Kansas where I served for just over four years as an Associate Pastor of Discipleship. We then moved to Illinois to accept a pastorate in Greenville. I was a young, inexperienced pastor but they accepted us with a lot of grace and love.
Then, in 1999 we were contacted by Growing Healthy Churches (GHC) and asked to consider several churches in California. Admittedly, California wasn’t even on my radar at the time, but we couldn’t deny God’s leading us here. In a relatively short time, South Valley has grown from a small traditional church, to a large, thriving congregation. It is amazing to consider the changes God has brought here in such a relatively short amount of time. We can’t wait to see what God does next!
Along the way, God blessed us with two fantastic children, Jessica and Joel. We couldn’t be more proud of them. Both have committed their lives to Jesus Christ and I had the awesome privilege of baptizing them. It is sometimes difficult being so far away from our families back in Kansas, but South Valley has become our family and we are proud to call Lemoore our home.
Lemoore Campus Pastor
I was born in Harlingen, Texas, but spent most of my growing up years in the small southeast Texas town of Eagle Lake. My father, also named Frank, was an Ag pilot and in 1974 moved his family to Corcoran, California where he flew for many years for Lakeland Dusters.
I became a Christian shortly after graduating from Corcoran High School in 1977. In 1980, I married Teresa Ann Reddick and in a few short years we had 3 wonderful children, Leslie Ann, Adam Levi and Krystal Lynn. Teresa and I currently have 6 grandchildren.
I sensed God leading me to preach in 1984 and began shortly after that doing pulpit supply work for various churches in Kings and Tulare Counties. I served as an interim pastor for 5 months at the First Southern Baptist Church of Farmersville in 1988.
Teresa and I were also involved in prison ministry at the California Correctional Facility in Corcoran from 1987 through 1992.
In 1990, I was called to serve as a bi-vocational pastor at Lemoore First Southern Baptist Church, where I pastored until January of 2001.
I came on staff as the worship pastor at South Valley in February of 2003, and served in that capacity for 5 years, after which I became the Campus Pastor here at South Valley Community Church.
Student Ministries Pastor
I was born in Texas but from the age of five I was raised right here in Lemoore. Growing up, I always loved drawing and being creative so after graduating LHS in 1988, I spent the next four years at Kings River College as an Art Major. I met Reagan while on vacation and for the next year I decided the long distance relationship needed to be shortened just a little, so I moved to Amarillo Texas. In 1993 Reagan and I were married and in 1995 we had our first child, Brooklyn. We attended a small church just outside of Amarillo where God began doing great things inside of me. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and it will always be the greatest day of my life. In 1999 we decided to move to Lemoore and that’s where we found this nice little church on Bush Street. In 2001, we had our first son Payton, and then in 2003 our second son Tanner. We have seen our church grow from 120 to what it is today. It was during this time Reagan and I began serving and that’s where I found my calling. I have always loved working with children, but my first ministry was when I was hired as the Youth Pastor in 2002, and God has been doing great things since then. In 2001 we began a program called the Fifth Quarter. This program has been recognized by California State Legislation, LHS Athletic Department, Hanford Sentinel, and in 2011 we received the “Golden Apple” for the partnership between LHS and SVCC. It has been an AMAZING blessing to see Lemoore grow and to help serve this community.
After 15 years of working the the youth, I accepted the call to work with the children at SVCC and began serving as the Children’s Pastor in January of 2017.
Counseling and Ministry Groups
I was born in Macon, Georgia and graduated from Ballard-Hudson High School. I immediately joined the U.S.Navy and attended aviation electronics school in Millington, Tennessee. During my naval career I received orders twice to Naval Air Station, Lemoore, California and both times I was able to swap with someone desiring to be stationed at NAS Lemoore. I was an air crew member for several years and finally retired.
My parents (Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stephens) lived in Macon, Georgia all of their lives. They were members of Mount Gilgal Baptist Church. They made sure that the family attended Sunday school and worship services each Sunday.
I became a Christian in 1970 at New Progressive Baptist Church, Oxnard, California, then in 1973 I became an ordained Deacon, served on the Trustee Board, sang in church choir, male chorus and was a Sunday school teacher.
I was licensed as a minister to preach in 1982 by Victory Bible Church, Oxnard, California. I served as the Worship Leader, Chairman of the Deacon Board, member of Trustee Board and taught New Member class orientation.
In 1986, I was ordained as an Associate Pastor at Loveland Christian Center, Fontana, California. I served as an Associate Pastor, Chairman of Pastor’s Alliance, Small group Teacher, Trustee chairman, Counselor, Elder Board member and in charge of Sunday evening worship services.
I met my lovely wife, Myrna in 1990. We started dating in 1998, and was married in 1999. In 2000, we moved to Glen Ellen, California and became members of Glen Ellen Community Church. We were members of the Praise Team, then I became an Associate Pastor in 2001. I served as an Interim Pastor for 18 months in 2001 and 2002 and for eight months in 2007. Also served as a Church Board Chairman, pre-marital counselor, officiated weddings and taught small groups.
We have six children, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Our children are Christians and greatly involved in their church activities. Our son Tracy is a Licensed Minister and a Praise Group Leader at Jubilee Christian Center in Santa Clara, California.
Although I had two orders to come to Lemoore during my naval career, the Lord finally moved us here in 2010, and we became a member of the South Valley Community Church the same year. I became a staff member in April 15, 2015 and I’m very grateful to be a part of the ministry of South Valley.
Community and Communication
I was born in Hanford and raised here in the city of Lemoore. Upon graduating from Lemoore High School in 2001, I then attended California State University, Fresno to pursue a degree in Instrumental Music Education on a full academic scholarship. I participated in numerous musical ensembles while in college, including the Fresno State Wind Ensemble, the Fresno State Bulldog Marching Band, the Fresno State Jazz ‘B’ Ensemble, and the Fresno State Saxophone Quartet. During this time, I was also a Drum Major Instructor for the United Spirit Association, teaching students in California, Oregon, Washington, and London, England. In 2006, I graduated Magna Cum Laude as the Dean’s Medalist for the Fresno State Music Department.
Thanks to a friend’s invitation to an on-campus bible study, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior in the spring of 2003, and was baptized in the fall of 2005. I regularly attended The Bridge EVFree Church of Fresno, where I was actively involved as a member of the college group production & leadership team, a bible study leader for Jr. high and college students, and a member of the college worship team. I also began working in Children’s Ministry at The Bridge teaching a third grade classroom, as well as two kindergarten classrooms.
I came to SVCC through the invitation of Pastor John Ecker to play on the Praise Team – and in the spring of 2007, I made SVCC my church home. I continued my involvement with the church’s Praise Team, and later became the Children’s Ministry Intern in the summer of 2008. After working as a Band & Choir Director in the Lemoore Union Elementary School District for 3 years, I answered God’s calling into full-time Children’s Ministry, and became the Children’s Pastor at SVCC in the Summer of 2009.
In 2016, I returned to music education with the Lemoore Union Elementary School District and serve part-time at South Valley helping build community and facilitate communication.
